Admissions

Program Description

The Bachelor of Public Health (BPH) program is a limited access program designed primarily for students who want to pursue advanced degree work in public health or a related field.  It is also appropriate for those who want to acquire foundational public health knowledge before continuing on to graduate or professional school or who will work in a health-care setting after graduation.

The program provides students the core skills necessary for advanced education in public health or a related field. All students learn about the five major areas of public health (biostatistics, environmental health services, epidemiology, health services administration, and social behavioral sciences) and each area’s contribution to public health; how social determinants of health impact disability, disease and illness in populations; critical aspects of contemporary public health challenges; professional communication; and the scientific bares of public health knowledge.

We hope you will seriously consider our college for your bachelor’s degree, and we welcome your comments and questions.

The current minimum requirements for admission can be found on the Prerequisites page.

Please remember, meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission into the program.

Please review all requirements for the BPH program to make sure you will have what you need to apply!

The Bachelor of Public Health program becomes limited access at the junior level, which means that you must apply and be accepted to the College as a junior to become part of the health science program. If you are interested in junior level admission to our college, you must apply to us in your sophomore year.  Students interested in the program may apply for Summer B or Fall admission consideration in the Spring of their second year.

The Bachelor of Public Health application is an online application and is available for submissions beginning in November of the current year.  The application deadline is February 1.
